Wot I Dun At the WeEkend.

This weekend me and my friends went to Trem-a-dog to go climbing. We got there very late because Uncle Ian was kept in detention after work. When we where in the car Uncle Ian tried to make our ears bleed by playing his music very loud.

In the morning a nice man woke me up with a cheerful "Good Morning" so I gave him some money and he went away. He kindly woke all my friends up too.

We went to the cafe where all the people spoke funny and had a nice cup of tea. Here we met Barcode, Nick, Byron, Sandy and Barcode's friend. They said that they where warming up. I think this means eating lots of fried food.

Later on we went climbing. First we climbed Hogmanay Hangover. It was very nice except for the dead bird sitting on it's nest. At the top we got lost and it took ages to beat through the jungle to get to the bottom.

At the bottom I met Barcode. He was resting after climbing Pincushion. He said it was very bold. Soon he went to climb Scratch Arete. It looked very difficult.

Alison and I climbed Scratch and I lead the first pitch. I was very proud of myself. Alison lead the second pitch and climbed very slowly. She said she didn't like the layback and put lots of protection in it. Then she started on the traverse. In the middle she started to do a little dance. She must have been enjoying herself to start dancing. Bardcode asked if she wanted a top rope but we decided that she was having too much fun with only one rope. When I climbed a silly man had put his rope over ours which made it very difficult. I was not happy with this man but he was bigger than me and looked very frightening so I didn't tell him off.

Uncle Ian and Aunty Shirley had gone to do the gear shop traverse (v. expensive) in Betws y coed. After which they climbed Flying Buttress in the Llanberris Pass. Aunty Shirley lead the first two pitches but Uncle Ian got lost when it was his term. Aunty Shirley was not happy with Uncle Ian.

My other friends did lots of climbing but they didn't tell me where they went. It must have been hard because they where all very tired, except for Sandy who went for a run. He must have done easier climbs and had to make him self tired so that he was like everybody else.

During the night there was a storm. It was very windy. Ian and Shirley's tent was blown over with Ian in it. It was very funny. Alisons tent was broken and looked like two teepees. It was too horrible to climb so we went to a cafe to warm up and then went home.

Pete - Class 3B.
