Interested in joining East Grinstead Climbing Club?
On a Wednesday evening during winter you can generally meet us at a local climbing wall, or in the summer out on sandstone. Contact us first so we can meet up with you. You can also join us on any of our scheduled away meets throughout the year.
Our members don't all live in East Grinstead! Our membership is liberally spread around the West Sussex, Kent and Surrey so don't worry if you are a little further afield.
Annual subscription is £18 (£11 July onwards) and includes third-party liability membership from the BMC. Membership also entitles you to 10% off gear purchased in many outdoor shops (take your card as you have to show it).
Peglers offer us a particularly good deal - 20% but you have to show your card!!

The minimum level of competence required is the ability to safely strap a harness on, tie on to the rope and, perhaps more importantly, belay correctly. For legal reasons EGCC club members are unable to teach these core basic skills so we recommend that complete beginners attend a short evening course at High Sports in Salfords, Redhill; this costs approx' £75.
Minimum equipment required: Boots, harness, belay plate, helmet.
